Yeah, me too. In our money-driven culture, marketing has become pushy, aggressive, nagging. It’s like asking someone to marry you (ie. commit) on the first date. It feels gross… Because it is gross. And it’s a huge turn-off.
There’s a better way.
The strategy is simple, not secretive.
Marketing doesn’t need to be overly complicated (or expensive!!). But it definitely needs to connect with the right audience. Otherwise, it only contributes to the noise. And I am not in the business of contributing to any more of the clutter.

I didn’t ask my wife to marry me on the first date. Instead I asked her out on a second date… then a third… fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth… I think of marketing like that. It can take many, many cups of coffee with someone before the words “I do” are spoken.
